Would You Vote....

.....for Esther Rantzen? Personally, I can't stand the woman but her decision to put herself forward as a prospective MP is in line with her apparent bid for sainthood. What do you think?

Re: Would You Vote....

Re: Would You Vote....

I googled her; read through a couple of sites .... so what's the problem with her I don't know about?

Re: Would You Vote....

No, because she has been an entertainer..in the most loose sense of the word, it doesn't follow that she would make a good politician......but then would we recognise a good politician?....we have had such dross for such a long time.

Re: Would You Vote....

How long have you got?

I don't like people who flutter their eyelashes and simper while sharpening the knives to back-stab anyone who gets in the way of their progress. Esther has a "public face" full of sympathy for everyone but her real priority is always Number One. She makes a great deal of her tragic widowhood without ever referring to the fact that she deliberately stole her late husband from his first wife and has admitted as much in the past. She was also instrumental in getting her one-time boss, Bernard Braden, sacked from his consumer-watchdog type programme - so she could take his place. Not my sort of person, definitely not my sort of MP.

I agree - a blond version of Edwina Currie

Re: Would You Vote....

Not sure West Ender, would certainly listen to what she had to say.

I don't particularly dislike her ... loved her past programmes, and understand a lot of what she says, and lays it out in a slow and constructive manner. Can only admire her for what she did with Childline.

As for her 'pinching' someone else's husband, well, they won't move unless they want to be pinched. Seemed to have made him happy anyway.

Read where a journalist in The Mail described her as bossy, humph, if it had been a male would have been described as 'Authorative' ... :D

I agree about the husbands, Kate, but she once said she saw Wilcox and decided she was going to have him, no matter what it took, wife or no wife and she just set about getting him. God knows why, he must have had something I never saw.
