A thief of opportunity.

If any one offers you a cheap Fujifilm Finepix s5600 Camera
http://tbn3.google.com/images?q=tbn:...5200-S6000.JPG

Could you give me a ring on 07929101927 as I would like it back.

Unfortunately there is a lot of work going on on my street and the sandblasters had put a curtain up in front of my & my neighbours houses, restricting the view from the street.
Some nice person took the opportunity to try the doors and found mine open, they must have been in & out very quickly went through my desk drawers and a few other things, contents of my jacket thrown all over the room.
The Camera was the only thing of value they took.
As I said above if and I know it's a big if, if, someone offers you it tell them you know someone that would be interested and then ring me, thanks.

:(

Re: A thief of opportunity.

Did you postcode it Less?
If you did, then it should be easy to trace if it is taken to one of these Cash Converter places.
I'm sorry that you were targeted by thieves, and I hope you get your camera back.

some folk would take the milk out of your tea Kate...to them it is a way of life......you have something they want, and they take it at the first opportunity.......there are no deterrents to this kind of behaviour.

Re: A thief of opportunity.

Less did you report the theft to the police?
And are you insured.....you may be able to make a claim for a new one.
I know you said the door was undone, but thieves have been known to rob places whilst the owner was on the premises......and if that was the case then maybe you would get your claim OK'd.

Wouldn't it not be better for them to ring the police rather than ringing you? What would you do exactly?

Absolutely spot on, the only trouble is you may just get one over the telephone rather than when you get a home visit:(

Not for the person falling, better instead, that they just dropped a hammer.

That wasn't my point. Less said if someone tries to sell them a camera of a certain description then ring him, rather than ring the police.

If I was offered a camera to buy of that description, I wouldn't be ringing Less even though I knew it would likely be his, I'd ring the police first and let them know why I suspect it was stolen and then it would be the police's job to ring Less surely?

Never mind.
