I entirely agree with you. But I wish the Unions had gone about it in the correct way and conducted a Ballot first. Then they would not be accused of acting illegally. The cause is good but the Unions must use the Law to their advantage. There is a better way than--EVERYBODY OUT LADS--

The unions did not call for action...this dispute is "unofficial" because the workers took it upon themselves to walk out...the managers know it takes weeks to organize strike ballots and they pulled a fast one.

that was the slimey stroke thatcher pulled, also the ballots were to be made "Postal" took well oer a month to organise, other influences come into play when the ballot paper popped through yer letterbox n people were too dense to see it.

I remember supporting the Miners.......I was a coalman and doing ok. Then my support was repaid by shutting off supply and the dole...........sometimes when you stand shoulder to shoulder the **** rubs off.

That's called a secret ballot, Cashy....its the essence of democracy. If the Volvo-driving Arthur Scargill had used it back in 1984 and got the majority needed, then we probably still have had a decent size coal industry now with british jobs done by british workers. Still, the President-for-life has other things to worry about these days, such as where to put the millions that he and his few remaining union cronies have creamed off from the miners compensation fund.
