Can you Believe it!!!! Bridge Smashed

Got back at 3am after a great holiday to find that some idiot has smashed his stolen pickup into and through the bridge at West Bradford, the bridge just after castle cement.

This now means that all residents of West Bradford have to either drive through Waddington or Chatburn to get to Clitheroe or the A59. which is at least a 10minute detour and thats if you can avoid the local tractors and caravans!!.

The driver stole the pickup from a site in hyde of all places and then smashed it into the bridge.

I just think its crazy how people can be so stupid,

5 to 7 weeks now for it to be repaired and thats a long time!.

i know it sounds childish, but the fact is, when you live in a village with one bridge, you do need it.

I just find it odd how a crime in Hyde has caused disruption here.

I remember when they closed Pilkington Bridge for 24hrs on Burnley road Altham, it caused 2 mile traffic jams.

That fast, it took LCC 8 months to convert a crossroads into a roundabout.

Just a dam shame it wasn't the Tinker bridge on Union Road. Just think of it - Ossy cut off for a week. Even better, a month.

heh, J7 M56, closed at teh minute due to teh bridge being weak. This has been ongoing since 2004 when they reduced it to 1 lane from 2, a major road bridge as part of a major motorway linking manchester to the M6, according to teh Highways Agency its due to be fixed by

SUMMER 2010!!!!!!!

you get 6 weeks, I get 6 years!
