BBC and Advertising

err, noticed teh BBC news website has google ads on it. If ads are good enough for their website why not their TV channels so we can get rid of teh license fee?

I for one don't want advert "breaks" on the BBC... I get cheesed off by the independent channels with adverts...popular programmes such as ITV's Coronation St are listed as 30 minute shows but are really about 20mins with the adverts, and other channels are even worse, to think that adverts on the BBC would end the license fee is cloud cuckoo land.

i detest the ads, n the mute goes on when they arrive, would hate to see em on the beeb in honesty, don't think fer a min that the introduction of the tripe, will see the license fee disappear.

well if our pathetic govenment or the next lot actually put their foot down and said NO licence fee then they wouldnt be allowed to charge one or altered the law to let you choose wether or not you watch and pay for bbc channels

i for one wont miss one single program they make if it means i can watch all te other channels for free ( excluding rip off sky)

internet licence next folks if teh bbc get their way just becaue teh bbc has 1 website amongst millions of other indipendant ones

Where are the ads Ian? Are you sure you're not routing through another country?

Re: BBC and Advertising

even though the licence money goes to fund the BBC it's not a BBC licence..it's a licence to own and watch TV, adverts or not there's no way that any government will do away with it or even reduce the fee.

I watch very few programs on BBC, maybe Breakfast is the only sure fire thing, but could just as easy watch Sky news. I tend to watch lots of progs on Sky especially documentaries, other programs I tape on Sky + then skip the adds:D
