Polish MEP leads the Tory Party
 

The British Tories have been defeated in thier attempt to run their branch of the European Union..the job has gone to a right wing Polish group and will be ruled by Polish Euro MP's ...LOL.. the people who will be the Government of Britain next year will be ruled and controled by East Europeans..ah well :rolleyes:

You speak of it like it's a bad thing that we have allies in Europe like the Polish who believe in what the vast majority of this country believes in - bringing back powers from Europe to member states like Britain and Poland. As far as 'defeated' the Conservative MEP's voted for the guy.

If the 'vast majority' of us want the E.U. to have less power, it's odd that David Cameron appointed the very pro-European Kenneth Clarke to his shadow cabinet, in January of this year.

Who has accepted that Conservative party policy will be to get powers back from Europe and to the British people. Not really that surprising. ;)

Would be rather silly to not take advantage of his talents just because of one disagreement. After all this is the chancellor who delivered Labour rock solid economic foundations when they took office. I'd start to get worried if he became Shadow Minister for Europe. :D

Still seems an odd choice to promote someone to your shadow cabinet who, in your words, is very pro-European, and which the 'vast majority' of the population oppose.

Well at least we don't have to promote or in fact make members lords to carry out goverernment policy, remember thats the second chamber which is so abhored by Labour but used so readily when they need it for their own sorid purposes

When you say "bringing back powers to member states" are you referring to the powers the Tories gave to the European Union by signing the Maastricht Treaty in the 90's?...afterall that was the treaty which formed this European Union...before then it was the Common Market, the Tories can twist and turn but history shows it was they who gave up most of Britains rights of self Government.
