Little Evidence Of Using Hand Gel
Just spent the last four hours at Royal Blackburn A&E and spotted little evidence of professionals using the hand gel. It infuriates me that a couple of seconds can't be taken to try and alleviate the spread of infections. I always use it when moving from one area to another surely proffessionals should be more fastidious in their care of patients?

Re: Little Evidence Of Using Hand Gel
Well done for spotting it Bernie, at least you did not spend your time with your head up your backside pretending all is rosy in our hospitals.
Did you notice anything else that was done wrong? What about neglecting to clean beds before a new patient moves into it? I bet you Doc wore a wrist watch, many do and you can't wash your hands properly with a wrist watch or long shirt sleeves on. |

The problems are caused by a number of things IMO, to much money being spent on management instead of bottom line services such as decent cleaners. Nurses coming in from university and not being trained as they used to be in the importance of cleaning thoroughly. We could go on all day about the inadeqacies of how things are being run in the NHS today but surely basic hand washing and using hand gels are things that all workers in our hospitals should have ingrained in them!!! |
Re: Little Evidence Of Using Hand Gel
Hospitals aside... that hand gel is damn expensive.
