What we need is taxi drivers that we feel safe with ... dont have to be women ... just ones that can get you to where you are going safely, that know where theyre going, ones that will drive watching the road instead of turning round telling you oh you are going there theres a lot of people going there we've been busy tonight taking people there.

The other night i went to tesco at road end very late at night .. coming back we saw a taxi with a back light out and kept slowing down and then speeding up again .. then eventually turned down hud hey road .. it was hyndburn council taxi...

What annoys me with a lot of taxi drivers is when you ask them how much the fare is, they say...What you usually pay mate?? Think all cabs should be metered these days!

Regardless of the rather dodgy first post, I noticed a link to an item on Pink Ladies - the taxis that "aren't". It wasn't in Merseyside, Warrington is in Cheshire, and the firm is still going despite having lost their latest court case last week.

This tells you all about them. It's a brilliant idea but there are problems over licencing (or the lack of it) and Warrington Borough Council are fighting to make them conform to taxi laws.

That really gets on my goat too.

It's only ever happened to me in Hyndburn, in a car that isn't one of Ossy Cabs, my usual taxi firm, as they don't do it.

It always happens from the ranks in Accy.

When they ask that stupid question, I always reply 'a pound', which usually illicits the proper fare they should be charging.

Its happened mainly with CB taxi's with me, but also one or two others, makes you feel like your having to barter, which i hate doing!

Ha! That's what I say too and they give you such a dirty look as if to say ''Haha, very funny, I've not heard that before''.

They bring it on themselves though by asking that stupid question.

cos there trying to sucker ya, if a fare is £3-50 n some firms charge £4-00 fer same, they hope ya have travelled wi them, WAKE UP.:D

Th only cab Firm I use is Hyndburn Cars, which to my knowledge are all metered
