blckpool.fleetwood,knott end.
 
done it today. bus pass to blackpool tower tram to fleetwood ferry to knott end. total cost one portion of chp's £1-30 two visit's to toilet 20p a time. good weather smashing day out. all thank's to p.b. and friends.:)

There is a container port at Fleetwood - goods shipments go to and fro to N Ireland

I have just googled a bit about Fleetwood and found -

Passengers & Cruises
The Isle of Man Passenger Terminal, located within the harbour outside the enclosed dock, has occasional summer sailings between Fleetwood and Douglas, operated by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.


..so they are 'occasional'

i did it a few weeks ago from blackpool starr gate, wi missus, off me own bat. never thought ya could use it on the ferry though, until we were getting on it.:D

I remember going to Knott End on the ferry years ago when I was little, I thought we were going to Knotty Ash to visit the Diddy Men - crushed I was :)
