People for Accrington to be proud of
People from Accy (as opposed to things in Accy for people) to be proud of......
Jo(h)n Anderson. When he lived on Norfolk Street he was known as John. Then he became famous and lost his "h" (YES/ Jon & Vangelis etc) I started a new thread for this because I don't think it quite fits in the old one. |

We could even argue that we should have no claim to pride in something if we have done nothing itowards the creation of it. |

I vote for Kipax to be inaugurated into the Hall of Fame! I should have known you'd been to every one because of the photos....but what about Shotgun? Anyways, respect.

Re: People for Accrington to be proud of
The title of this thread is 'People for Accrington to be proud of'
Well, how about Arthur J. Inman. Who lost his right arm in a brickyard accident when he was fourteen. Was presented to the Prince of Wales when he visited Accy during the depresion and in the nine short years that I knew him, taught me more than I realised. The only man I have ever met who could tie a shoelace with one hand. My Grandad was brilliant. |
