Holidays
I've just today got back from my 2 week holiday in Bulgaria and I know many people don't even consider it as a holiday destination. I would just like to recommend Bulgaria to everybody out there who loves sun, sea, sand and a damn good time. Its brill x

Re: Holidays
I had a holiday in Bulgaria in 1998 and completely agree. It was extremely clean, good food, very cheap and friendly. I wasn't expecting much when I went, it was a late deal and I didn't have time to find out much about the place, but I was impressed. :)

Re: Holidays
i've never actually been abroad myself but my sister-in-law has just gone back 2 Bulgaria. She went a few weeks ago & bought herself a bungalow over there, she says that property prices are really cheap over there....

Re: Holidays
I have never considered Bulgaria. What are the prices like there?

Re: Holidays
You can't get hold of Bulgarian Lev, outside of Bulgaria. The exchange rate is sometimes better for US Dollar than it is for Sterling, so it's best to check before you get any travellers cheques. When I went, Sterling was more favourable. I spent a grand total of £100 all week. We ate out twice a day (lunch and evening meal) went to bars, bought 200 ciggies for my mum, and some paintings from street artists. Hotels have good exchange facilities and the flights tend to get in when these services are still open, so you can exchange currency as soon as you get there.
The most expensive meal we had was in the Casino in Golden Sands. We both had a starter, steak dinner, crepes and 2 bottles of wine, all for the princely sum of £7.50 each... :) There was entertainment with that too.. |
Re: Holidays
Well when i went which like i said was last 2 weeks gone I found it was the sterling that was of greater value now. Definately worth a think about!

Re: Holidays
Off to Alanya (Turkey) in a few hours time. So there will probably be a heat wave now in England.
