Earlier this month it was announced that heart attack rates fell by about 10% in England in the year after the ban on smoking in public places was introduced in July 2007 - which is more than originally anticipated.
But the latest work, based on the results of numerous different studies collectively involving millions of people, indicated that smoking bans have reduced heart attack rates by as much as 26% per year.

Therefore, no mistake for bringing in the smoking ban

this to me is one of the main reasons "Britains" in such a mess.

Which probably means, that rather than using the extra space to give the victims of this disease better care, the NHs will cut back by 26% on beds required, how on earth is that good for any of us?

After all, smoking isn't the only cause of heart attack, maybe the fat beggars should also be quaking, it won't be long before they get the same sort of treatment.

The "We know better than You" brigade are now stating to campaign for more taxes on soft drinks like Coke and Pepsi , citing health costs for obesity treatment .....total bull , just one more more way of raising revenue.
Someone tell me , whats the next step when everyone is living to 100 yrs , wheres the money going to come from to pay the pensions

There won't be any pensions to pay. Government's line will be, "You should have saved for your pension. We told you, didn't we? And did you listen?" They will then institute culling of the over 70s (licence required), with a "closed season" in August to allow grandparents to look after small grandchildren while the parents work to save for their pensions.

You don't mean the same Govt. that allowed the Pension Schemes to be robbed blind by their executive boards which usually contained one or two retired MPs and Civil Servants ;) ;)

every pub shoud have a small room at teh rear of teh premises..
.
.
.
to put the moaning sods in who constantly bleet on about smokers

even non smokers dont like them thats why most non smokers stand outside with the smokers because no one can stand to talk to them and dont want to be left alone in the pub with them.

so if your the one thats left sat in the pub your basically that popular that other non smokers woudl rather breath in passive smoke than listen to you whine :D

We in Canada had to "hide" our ciggies since last year, so it's like go into the store and guess which shelf they are hiding behind.
