Thankyou scum

:mad:Yesterday my landlord came and concreted my back yard
now i had a load of plants and a new compost bin in the yard which had to be moved.
the plants where no problem they got brought inside but the compost bin was another matter as it was three-quarters full and they don't have a bottom on them anyway the landlord said he would sort it and got it into the back ally after removing the gate so no problem.
they laid the concrete left it a few hours then came back and put the back gate back on.
but had to leave the compost bin and wheelie bin in the back ally
so i got up this morning and went out to bring them in lo and behold some scum had emptied the compost bin into the wheelie bin and nicked the compost bin.
so i thought well the compost can stay in the wheelie bin and went to bring it in there was a loud crack and i was on the floor in agony my back had gone i felt like i was going to pass out with all the pain and clammy skin shouted for help as i could not move but nobody could hear me it was 6-30am so laid there for half hour till i felt a little better and half walked half crawled into the kitchen and shouted Anne who came down stairs and said "what have you done now?"
my back i think still in loads of pain you better get to hospital so thanks to Benipete who came to my rescue and took me to Accyvic they injected the spine and said you have damaged your lower back (state the obvious)
so i am sat here typing this still in loads of pain as the injection has not taken effect much yet
Thank-you to the scum that nicked my compost bin i don't know what use it will be to you and they are free but as it was not nailed down it was far game i supose:mad:

I can't get over them putting the contents in your wheelie bin. If the compost bin is like mine, about 4'tall with no bottom and tapering towards the top, you could lift the bin up and just leave the compost to collapse from its bin-shape. They must have shovelled it into your wheelie bin but - why bother?

Is there anyone here who knows the resale/blackmarket/fence value of a compost bin in Accy? Failing that, is anyone aware of what altenative purposes a compost bin can be put to? And - Mick - was your bin clearly marked with it's home address?

PS.....some of these lasses who do back massage for the NHS are pretty good lookers, so things can't be all that bad - although I don't think Anne will be too happy about that.

Re: Thankyou scum

Well i am just wondering it the person that took the bin IS a member of accyweb:confused:
My Brother David kindly came over from Preston to help bring the plants back outside and he brought a spare compost bin with him.
although he did have an alternative agenda as he had a computer problem with the laptop.
Anyway he brought the spare compost bin into the yard via the front door and i said the compost was outside in a wheelie bin and getting it in is what did my back so he went out and called me there in the back ally was my compost bin
he got the compost in for me and i now have 2 compost bins
so to the person that replaced the my compost bin thank-you
they must have thought they had a bottom in and would be good storage bins:D

Seems strange returning your compost bin, wonder if they had a guilt trip. But having your bin back is no compansation for having your back put out. Hope your soon feeling better and that there is no long term effects.

Mick 27-09-2009 17:33

Re: Thankyou scum

The only reason i can think of is they did not know what it was and thought it had a bottom in and could be used for storage and it was not nailed down:D

You need to try some of this chinese accupuncture treatment. If you can't get a professional to do it - or if the waiting list is to long - then get Less to stick a few needles in yer back. You'll need a few pints first, of course, and Less will need a steady hand - but give it a try and see - you've nowt to lose.

By an odd coincidence Dave came over and brought us some perry winkles, he also bought a box of pins so we could eat in the beer garden some of the pins are about 2 inches long, will they do?

I've no disinfectant so if I just spit on them then wipe them on my sleeve they'll be clean enough won't they?

Aye, those pins sound just about right. You will need to check there's no rust on 'em - well, not too much - and you're quite right, you will have to sterilise them first. If you stick 'em in Mick's lager, then that should do the trick (although the beer may lose it's head, which is a bit of a shame). You might also find that some of the needles are a bit reluctant to go in - they may be a bit blunt - in which case you will need a hammer. If so, you might want to ask Mick if he will hold the needle in place while you hammer them in. After all, you don't want to hit your finger and thumb, do you? Also, it might hurt Mick a little bit for the first half dozen so he may want to bite on a bit of leather. If he takes his shoe off and then sticks it in his gob, it should be OK.

Let us know how you go on.

They were talking about Kinesio tape on the Chris Evans show tonight .. he had a suspected broken rib .. had never heard of it before. May not be for your injured back, but was interesting :-

Good idea Royboy but all the doc gave me was some ARTHROTEC anti inflammatories
i had to sleep on the settee last night as i could not get up stairs even on all fours it was just too painful,i tried to stand up and shouted out in pain so much it made Anne grab the phone and dial NHS Direct for info they took details and said someone will ring back in 1-4 hours
which they did 2 hours later the only suggestion was to use heat pads and at the time i had Annes wheat pad thing on my back so not much help really
but this morning the Arthrotec along with Co-Codamol seam to be working at least i can move this morning so here is hoping
