Ten out of ten for trying

Well I've seen it all now, well I thought I had, think everybody gets the emails purporting to be from various banks, but I got an entirely new type of scam today. I got this Email from a "Canadian" attorney called Thomas Mark who was after tracing heirs to a man who had been killed, along with his family, in a car crash, leaving some £5.7 billion, and guess what through extensive research he had the pleasure of telling me I was one of those luck heirs, well I'm shocked and stunned and not a little amazed. All I had to do was to send him my bank details so he could transfer the funds into my account. Well you have to give um ten out of ten for trying, they must think I'm stupid, mind you some one will fall hook line and sinker for it

...If it was from Canada, then my guess it was from Eric, just trying to raise a few bob from the old country - they need it over there.

Thomas Mark sounds more like a hairdresser than an attorney

Gordon Brown must be desperate if he is trying these kind of scams. Seriously tough some would see £££££££££ before their eyes and go ahead and do it. There are that many of these around someone is making money. Its got to the point that they are a bigger pain in the arse than cold calling.

I got something similar a few months ago, but it was on my mobile, I was a bit stunned, they actually knew my name but not my address, which they obviously wanted, and of course my bank account details which I promply sent off to him (NOT) :(

It was just name Margaret, nothing to say what it was about, usually you can tell its a scam when you see it but it just came up as "Thomas Mark" an that was it

Re: Ten out of ten for trying

I had one a couple of days ago from the F.B.I
It seems that $10.5 million that was due to be transfered into my bank account was intercepted by the F.B.I because it could be "terrorist activity".
It was stressed that I was not suspected of such activities and all I need to do is confirm my bank details etc and the money will be released into my account before the end of the month...happy days!
