Church attendance and school trips

jumping from the thread about the possible closure of St. James Church ..., probably due to low/lack of attendance.......I'm wondering how many School children still get the chance to visit one of the great Cathedrals on day-out school trips , know I went on a visit to York Cathedral during my primary school years and thought it was was one of the best day-outs I've ever had .

My young relatives still enjoy going on various school trips, most of which try to tie in with something they are studying.

I too went to York, in my last year at primary school, in the roasting month of July '76'. It was fascinating, and I still remember all the facts and figures that relate to the places we visited.

i would rather my kids spent teh day on a school trip at chester zoo watching chimps return V signs and throw shoit at each other than have to suffer walking around a stuffy cathederal lol

anyone who has seen chimps and hasnt had them exchange rude fingure gestures is a big fat fibber lol :D

girls may not be as crude but i bet they have all got a story of how they giggled at certain animals huge willies lol
