Royal Mail
Well the CWU are after taking royal mail to court about the agency workers they've hired.
BBC NEWS | Business | Royal Mail to face legal action Now i got my post today at 4.35pm when it was delivered .. sometimes its around dinnertime .. sometimes its even before 8am .... But dont understand this why theyre taking them to court when royal mail are saying its to cope with the backlog from the strikes but also with the amount of mail they will have to cope with because its coming up to christmas. They always take extra help on in the run up to christmas .. so whats new? |
Re: Royal Mail
these morons are cutting their own throats because those that manage to survive these strikes wont be shifting back to them if they can help it, there are plenty of small buisnesses going to the wall because of these idiots and on a personal level i darnt send anything by royal mail from my selling on ebay because if it gets tied up in the strike action i dare say the clowns will loose it and as most of the stuff i send is under £30 its not worth insuring and also customers dont want the extra expense of insurance on cheap items it defeats the object of buying cheaper online and on top of that if the customer complains to paypal they get their money back and you loose both the item and the money
i bet theres a few people using this strike as an excuse to get money back for stuff saying that they never got it when they did,its ok saying get it recorded delivery but this is yet another expense customers are not willing to pay and will go to sellers who charge less postage so your damned if you do and damned if you dont good luck to those earning cash by doing these sods jobs for them at least somones happy to actually have a job in these hard times |
Re: Royal Mail
I lost all sympathy when their Union Leader (can't remember the guys name) said he was more powerful than Arthur Scargill

Re: Royal Mail
Hey guys ,i work for royal mail and i ain't strikin , its pointless they want to do some changes ......... well in accy the changes all came in 12 months ago ,thats why you don't get your mail at 8.00 in a mornin like you used to , its only cause they are bringin it in down south (londan mainly ) that they are strikin . i told my union guy that a was not goin out on strike to lose money for nothing as the changes were already in up here and i a can't afford it with crimbo a month away , he said thats a poor excuse !!! i bit my tonge and walked away !!

Re: Royal Mail
good post ian1... it tells us the reality of this dispute.
this trouble has been brewing for years.. the managment of Royal Mail have signed agreements with the unions then have broken them before the print dried...the recent employment of casual workers employed on 2 month contracts is not only for the Christmas period but is a policy to make all PO staff "casual" employed by agencies rather than the Royal Mail .. no pension.. no sick pay. Of course any new board of directors and excutives will have biult in pensions and bonus schemes when the Royal Mail is privitised |

if teh above is true i have even less sympathy for them who are striking actually when they get important hospital appointments put through the right door or not loose them i may actually get round to thinking they earn their money, its a poor do when i have to have my hospital records put to an address in a different town just to stand a better chance of getting appointments that are sent to me ps: well done for not striking , feeding your family and keeping a roof over your heads is more important than fighting somthing that has already happened and is unlikly to change |
Re: Royal Mail

its a poor do when you have to find out teh strike is off until at least after christmas from a woman sat in her living room and not from your union rep lol me thinks royal mails union has its head up its arse and dosnt really know its doing lol |
Re: Royal Mail
'if theyve took all this temporary staff on have they been checked for any criminal history.with the speed of the recruiting i wouldnt think so,is that not breaking the law ? and if you want higher postage charges etc just keep calling the strikers. the conditions and work practises are laying the foundations for selling it off to their buddies.they are no better than the tories im finished with labour and so is the union who are going to withdraw their £4 million from the labour party..dont believe everything in the murdoch press these people are fighting for their livelyhoods and you call them :confused:i woud rather go through one year of disrupted post than be ripped off by some politicians cronie who has bought a slice of royal mail..
|
Re: Royal Mail
I doubt the "new" staff have been checked for anything.. but then these laws seem to be relaxed when it comes to a dispute with management... if this strike, which afterall is during a Labour administration, has to be the last stand then so be it.. I'm with the strikers .. no one in their right minds would strike at this time unless they had a solid reason.. these men and women are not militant commies.. they are the public.

Re: Royal Mail
Did I hear that one issue was a delivery rate of 4 miles per hour? If so walk up your street and into every garden through a gate, stoop down and post into a stiff letter box and maintain 4 miles per hour!
