Pocket Money

according to a survey done for the halifax the average kids pocket money has gone up 11p this year .. up to £6.24 ...

BBC News - Pocket money 'rose by 11p a week on average' in 2009

boys get a £1 more than girls ....
A survey of 1,202 children aged between eight and 15 for the Halifax bank found that boys typically received just over a pound more than girls.

but i do actually like this bit :

While one in four children said they would save up if there was something expensive they wanted, 17% confessed they would rather resort to pester power to get it.

Thats quite a difference to when i was a kid .. i got £2 a week .. but when i got a paper round and thought i was going to be rich .. id have £4 a week instead of £2 ... my dad said your earning now - you dont get spending money!!!!:D:D:D

So how much do your kids/grandkids get .. and hows their pester power? :D

My memories not good enough to remember how much I used to get spending money, but I can remember my Grandma living with us and If I didn't get out of my mum I'd always give granny the sad eye:D

Reece does loads of jobs for me around the house, maybe more than the average 13 year old does (due to my dodgy arms), he gets a fiver a week plus whatever i've got if he needs anything

Re: Pocket Money

Better not tell my two how much other kids get. Maddie gets £1 and Zack gets 70p, which will go up 10p on his 8th birthday in Jan.

This is only for saving up, I buy them comics and treats as well.
