Yes it's true what they say, Come hail or rain or sleet or snow the Postie always gets through.

Here I am shivering at the thought that soon I have to brave the rather thick blanket of snow that surrounds us today, I wasn't looking forward to going out and fighting against the storm, in fact I was making every excuse to myself not to go out today.

Then I heard the rattle of my letter-box and the familiar sound that envelopes make when they fall onto the floor.

This gave me inspiration, if the post-person, (yes I can be P.C.), can fight this storm then so can I.
I have put on my heavy boots Arctic top coat and made my way to the door to step outside and brave the elements.
I hesitated only for a moment just to see what my hero of today had brought me, I then took off my coat threw my boots into a corner and put the kettle on, it can wait until tomorrow I cried hysterically!

What had he/she battled the elements for to thrust through my door?

An unasked for, catalogue of sun blinds with a letter saying how much cheaper they would be if I was to purchase them now while it is out of season.

Well Mr. Postman, it might only be a cup of coffee but I raise it high and say, "well done, the days go by hardly anyone notices you as you pass, but today I for one recognise how brave you are".

Wish our post was that simple, it has to be collected from the post office for the whole site, the P.O. is open between 10am - 2pm Monday to Friday, 10am - midday Saturday. It is always busy in there, so if you have not got to the desk by 2pm tough, "Tools down". There are also many Bank Holidays here, there is another one coming up tomorrow. The P.O. was shut for 2 weeks as the "post person" was ill, and no-one else could do the job. I will never call the Royal Mail again as it is far superior to the Spanish Post Office. :(

my postie just been .. and hes now gone looking for a bus to take him back to accy ...

BUT ... the snow hasnt stopped me having visitors .. and look what accyman brought me ... :D:D:D its now been kicked to oblivion though because his eyes fell off when he tried to put a hat on him!! :D:D:D

They're a hardy lot up there.

When you spend your weekends on the Quayside, coatless, in nothing more than hotpants and a boob tube, a bit of snow chapping your thighs is nowt.

Just spoken to my neighbour, who works in the Town Hall, and who's walked back from Accy, because all council employees have been sent home...though hopefully not those who work on the gritters.
