Organ Donation Registration
I saw the advert about the Organ Donation Registration, although I've carried a card for many years, like me it's getting a bit worse for wear so I decided I'd register, very easy to do on-line, for anyone else that is interested in registering the link is below:-
NHSBT - Organ Donation - If however you aren't interested or have some weird Conspiracy theory about ghoulish going's on to do with this subject, do me a favour, don't post it in this thread, this isn't the place to hear such garbage, but do feel free to start your own thread. :) |
Re: Organ Donation Registration
Thank you for posting that Less. I'd always intended to do it but not got round to it.
It's now done. They can have everything except my eyes - I know it's daft but I'm a bit squeamish. |
Re: Organ Donation Registration
Also have a card and a regular Blood Donor, Just registered. Thanks Less

Re: Organ Donation Registration
Cheers, Less, my card's getting a bit tatty too, so that came in handy.
They can take anything they want, although I reckon my liver might be a bit worse for wear by the time I joss it. ;) |
Re: Organ Donation Registration
Already registered.
Everthing possible is up for grabs, if it's of any use to anyone else. Though I hope no one fights over my lovely hair, especially Elton John. I hope more people do register, and also talk to their nearest and dearest that they wish to donate after they've died, as it could help save extra anguish later, if you've already discussed your wishes. |
Re: Organ Donation Registration
As Gayle, I always intended to but never got round to it. Cheers for the link!

Re: Organ Donation Registration
I've carried a card for years

Re: Organ Donation Registration
I was under the impression, you had to be below a certain age to donate organs.
I think mine are worn out by now. Retlaw. |
Re: Organ Donation Registration
Thanks Less I have registered

Quote:
:D Can older people be donors? Yes, in the case of cornea and some other tissue, age does not matter. For other organs it is the person's physical condition, not age, which is the deciding factor. Specialist healthcare professionals decide in each case which organs and tissue are suitable. Organs and tissue from people in their 70s and 80s are transplanted successfully. http://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/ukt/...wers_8.jsp#q23 |

Re: Organ Donation Registration

Re: Organ Donation Registration
I also registered when it was first launched....but
the main thing still is to let your next of kin know your wishes cos even if you are on the register if your next of kin says no then the organs will still not be taken!! |
