Dementia funding ..
I never realised there was that big a difference between the funding of research into dementia when you compare it to cancer and heart research. I knew they didnt get as much but for the difference to be that much i think its terrible especially when you compare the costs of looking after a dementia patient compared to what it costs for a heart or cancer patient..
BBC News - Dementia 'losing out' to cancer in funding stakes I know dementia isnt 'fashionable' ... its mainly older people that get it .. not kylie minogue ..and once you have dementia then there is no cure .. its downhill all the way .. and the carers mainly their spouse or children end up looking after them .. and watching their mum or dad or even both for the kids its hard .. i know from experience. I just hope that the government realise this and do put more money into research for dementia .. maybe just maybe they may be able to find a cure or find a way to slow it down .. |
