Careless talk cost votes.
Am I imagining it, or have the members of Accy Web who are also councillors, been a little quiet of late?
We know the Council Leader ain't too keen, after doing his three and only posts, and the majority of them aren't Conservative, but they are on-line quiet often, just not posting as much as they did. I would have been interested in their thoughts about the television programme Tower Block of Commons, which I know Graham saw. Perhaps I'm wrong, and there's just nothing they want to post about. Hope it's that..and nothing more sinister. |
Re: Careless talk cost votes.
Its very close to election time, maybe they dont want to get into any arguments with you ;)

I'd love it if they'd do a question and answer thread here. Since the local press is now more or less ineffectual, Accy Web is a medium crying out to be used. Even people who are on differing political sides to Graham Jones have said he's earned their grudging respect, by posting on here, and being just the same as every other member. |
Re: Careless talk cost votes.
Well, Bernard was on quite recently, telling us how he thought Tony Blair was right to invade Iraq...but he's gone quite quiet after that. Maybe the big boss men at Transport House had a word with him and told him to stop digging! ;)

Re: Careless talk cost votes.
Don't know about anybody else but as far as I can see our local representatives just appear to come on and post when they can have a dig about the opposing sides point of view. What I would like to hear is their parties manifesto if you like and how they are going to improve the lot of the common people. TBH I get fed up of tit for tat posts and really would like to hear how their party is going to strive to improve things.

Re: Careless talk cost votes.
I just posted today's post on a new thread as Mods suggested/slapped wrist.

Re: Careless talk cost votes.
be interesting to read how the Labour party (National and local) spin this ....
Islamic radicals 'infiltrate' the Labour Party - Telegraph Cynical sod that I am , I'm thinking the Labour party have a secret wish/desire to see the BNP gain some support , then when things go 'tits-up' they stand back all shocked and aghast and say "don't blame us ,not our fault, you voted us out of power"  |

Re: Careless talk cost votes.
I may be wide of the mark, and apologise in advance if this is so, but I think local mp's are whipping boys for the main gobs down south, many young mp's I believe go into politics in an attempt to make a difference, but seem to me to be beaten down to tow the line, and until ALL mp's are listened to equally, and their 'knowledge of the locals' allowed to influence judgement where it counts, then a lot of time is being wasted, especially by the voters. I think it is almost impossible now for any parties policies to be more than 50% of the ideal of any one person.
