Sexual Assault In Accrington.......
 

A girl of 14 was assaulted on sunday night but the police have only seen fit to release the information today:rolleyes: scandalous really people should be informed so they can take extra care.

I wouldnt walk along there when it was dark, was always advised to avoid it (and thats from being a youngster) Never liked the look of it at all. (I am right in thinking that its the path on lonsdale st next to the railway bridge which runs alongside the railway? didnt think it went as far as scaitcliffe st though)

It comes all the way to Eagle Street Emzy and I won't even walk on it during the day. You see some right weirdos using it.

Couldnt remember where it ended up, have a vague memory walking down it with my older brother as a youngster but cant really remember it much. Just know i dont like the look of it and would choose to walk down there.

It's easy to wise after the event but anyone with any sense wouldn't have been on that path after dark on their own. I don't even walk up Water st in the dark and I am a well built adult, it's common sense really. I wish the victim well and hope the evil git is caught, it's a salutory warning to lone women not just here in Accrington but everywhere.

a terrible and cowardly attack i hope the police catch him before he gets shipped abroad for an extended holiday while the heat dies down.Instead of police having to declare no go areas how about who ever is in charge of funding the police fund teh police propperly so they can cover all areas and not be so thinly spread that criminals and scum like this feel they have a good chance of getting away with things.

its a poor bloody do when streets arnt safe to walk at 8.30pm

My brother got beat up last year on his way home from town walking along that path and also had his mobile stolen.As it is out of the way, people can just hide in bushes and just jump out at will.I echo all the above sentiments, but people will still continue to use this path.I think it would be a good idea if HBC installed street lamps along the path, and put some cctv up.

For everyones safety i think this path would be better off being blocked off and retired, it really is dodgy on there.

No go areas in a town of what, 35 thousand maybe:eek: ... sounds like the local coppers need to take control.
