Re: Election - Place yer bets.
Hello...this is news...I see Graham is expecting a fall in the Labour majority. What's he know that the rest of us don't (other than Labour Party private polls)?
Anyway, still no sign of Buckley on here....I wonder if her Tory 'mates' have decided to keep this website a secret from her? |

Re: Election - Place yer bets.
I think you have to expect a fall in Labours vote. Let's live in the real world.
Michael Howard for start was a disaster. Tony Blair could charm the birds out of the trees. Then we have the last 5 years where we have had tough times. On my family. My mothers side is made up of my grandads side family pure accringtonians, accy pals et al. He is who I admire so much and gave me good advice. He married my gran from a Salford Tory family and my gran ran La Mode on abbey St. They lived on Tremellan St before moving to Baxenden near my great grandfather. My grandads dad was a livery driver at Accrington Station and got a council flat in Baxenden following slum clearance on grange St. A street where a lot of Pals came from. I had my tea there every tuesday after school on Ashworth street. On my dads side my gran and grandad were poor from Mill Hill. They split in 47 and my gran lived in Whalley as a housemaid with two young sons and then Clayton le Moors for about 20 years. she had no sisters. I went there on Mondays after school. A lot of distant family that don't know me live in Blakburn still. My grandad lived at Brownhill in the end though we never met until I turned up one day. He was crippled. It hurt him too much and he asked me not to return so I didn't. My Grans grandfather I vaguely remember in a Blackburn old folks home. So to me my family is my mothers side who all lived here and my gran who lived down clayton. 4 generations who all lived in Baxenden. Is that too much info? |
Re: Election - Place yer bets.
Just been listening again to that Buffoon Cameron's Election Broadcast...he wants us all to have a say in everything...to choose or sack our own MP's for instance!!...No point even going any further on this is there...because he's already fallen down at that point....we all know how "open" the selection of prospective candidates of his own party was dont we!!...So what chance the rest of us oiks..if he gets in....this fella is a budding dictator!....We know how the rest of his decision making will work dont we!!
Because of how Politicians have behaved over recent times, i was considering a no vote or a protest vote. That might have made a small point, or made me feel better for a while, but the two major objectives i have in voting now are really to get the best MP for Hyndburn, and to hopefully help stop Cameron getting anywhere near No 10....so i've decided now that Graham is getting my vote! Best Regards - Taggy |

I simply wondered what, if any, soundings and pollings at the constituency level had revealed. I know that in the past these were done by all parties and kept private but in the climate of Freedom of Information it would be interesting to know what they are saying so far. |

It makes Karen 'Kazzer' Buckley's one mealy snap, taken outside Stanley's locked stadium, look a bit pathetic. |

Ilyas has been out canvassing and will becoming out again knocking on doors.
Most people are saying they are undecided more so than usual. Some people are switching form Labour to Tory (or somebody else). The odd one is switching form Tory to Labour because 'Cameron's weak/shallow'. Then there's a local vote which seems sizeable, a stay at home Labour vote, a very small stay at home Conservative vote. An angry anti-Labour vote coming the other way. The anti-Gordon Brown vote. The Rev Kev vote in the suburbs. The two independent votes in Great Harwood. The Haslingden vote for homer UKIP. In other words anything can happen but the guy at the barbers said I might just sneak it. |
