BBC or ITV
I watch the results program all night (I'm knackered this morning) and the ITV offering was head and shoulders over the BBC, the Beeb were miles behind with their declarations, it was around 2am on ITV when it flashed up Labour Hold Hyndburn, the same caption came up on the BBC at around 4-15am. The Beebs seat count was miles behind ITV all night

Re: BBC or ITV
BBC was awful and that pointless party with Andrew Neil made me turn over
|
Re: BBC or ITV
I only watched an hour or so of it on the BBC but their coverage was very poor, repetitive, with pointless interviews, including Bruce Forsyth at one point. Too many opionated presenters thinking the story was about them i thought!
Incidentely as they are getting older has anyone spotted the resemblence both between David Dimbleby and Uncle Bulgaria of the Wombles, and Jeremy Paxman and Mr Punch!!:D Best Regards - Taggy |
Re: BBC or ITV
The result wasnt declared till about five to 4 this morning .. because they had to do a recount.

what happened jaysay was that you could tell graham had won .. they had the votes all laid out on the table ... but the votes didnt tally up when they added them all up .. so they had to do a recount.

Re: BBC or ITV
The BBC has been lambasted for its 'embarrassingly awful ' election boat party - after spending more than £30,000 on a celebrity-studded evening hosted by director general Mark Thompson.
Stars ranging from Piers Morgan to Joan Collins, Maureen Lipman, Fern Britton and joined BBC chiefs on board a luxury yacht called the Silver Sturgeon, which was moored by the London Eye for the evening. Millions watched as Andrew Neil chatted to the celebrities while guests, invited by Mr Thompson, milled about drinking free wine and enjoying BBC hospitality at a grand cost to the licence fee payer. Re: BBC or ITV
I agree jaysay ITV were head and shoulders above the BBC. David Dimbleby was floundering so badly I turned over cos it was making me squirm. And although Alistair Stewart made some mistakes which can only be expected in a live show of an election he either laughed at himself or covered them well.
I couldn't believe the BBC were so behind in updating the seats too. In fact I found it so addictive I went to bed at 6.15am lol |
Re: BBC or ITV
I watched the CBC ... not too much about the election, although the commentators seemed confused as to why you guys are so worried about a minority govt, ("hung parliament" Sounds like there are no female MPs). However, did get to see the Montreal Candiens beat the Penguins (makes a nice change from baby seals:eek:) to tie the series at 2-2:D
I did catch some of the BBC coverage ... was not impressed. |
Re: BBC or ITV
I watched it all on Sky News. Excellent presentation, with the best commentator of them all, Adam Boulton.

Re: BBC or ITV
There has been controversy about the vast cost of the 'BBC election studio'.
At the moment they are spending a lot of time in the 'Westminster studio' It gives you the impression that they are actually in a studio with big glass windows overlooking the place, but the illusion is shattered when the scene moves behind the commentator as the camera filming it shifts. |
Re: BBC or ITV
I noticed BBC were the only terrestrial channel to cancel a program to bring the news that Brown was stepping down, then no doubt they covered the same ground again 45 minutes later (I didn't watch the scheduled news) why was it necessary to cancel a program and indeed bring in an Elderly Liberal, a discredited spin doctor and an unelected government minister Lord Adonis, to give their thoughts on the matte, who gives a flying. The BBC are now a joke.
