Another good thing about British jails, over American ones, is that crack isn't really very popular here, so British wives don't have to try and hide a pipe in their snatch.

Has anyone compared the crime rate in the UK with that of the US? I haven't, by the way; still suffering from the Victoria Day binge:) But I do feel that as well as discussing the merits of the two systems, we should also be looking at how effective they are, or seem to be.

all i know is that in the uk its most likely a murderer will be released to murder again after 10-17 years but in some states at least murderers get executed so although murders may still occur its less likely to be a repeat offender :-)
