Police activity on Within Grove
 

Usually when I walk mac in the morning it's nice and quiet, not this morning tho............3 police vans and a police car outside a house on Within Grove, 2 police women came out as I was passing and one had an enormous machete with her, she even offered to give me a haircut which I thought was very considerate of her, I sadly had to decline as mac wanted his walk lol

havnt been to huncoat sands for a while is most of teh estate still boarded up or did they manage to sell off teh properties ?

Drove through this morning on the way to the tip. The place is still boarded up and a terrible eyesore! Feel sorry for the people left living up there...

If you go up Burnley Road Flashy from Accy town centre .. after the cemetery .. Within Grove is the first on yer left.

Many years I used to go there several times a week when I worked for the SS.
I recall getting tyre punctures every few weeks - the amount of broken glass about was phenomenal - you couldn't avoid it.

I have just had a wander around it on Google maps street view.
A large chunk of the estate near the railway line is now demolished, and there are plenty of boarded up houses.

The ones occupied have the look of being owner/occupied.
Poor folk - Maggie didn't do them any favours when they got the right to buy.

Maggie did not do the Councils any favours either who ended up selling off the houses for less than they were worth and then not building new ones to replace the lost stock.

its not biscuits neil .. if you went to research facility you'd know mac gets chocolate buttons ... the cat version (when less treats his cat) or proper ones .. not dog buttons .. he dont like them .. then david takes him for a walk .. and then he gets a few more when he comes back!!!!:D:D:D

They once offered me a property on within grove, I told the young lady that I'd rather live on the top of the Coppice in a tent, her reply was, well maybe it isn't our best estate:rolleyes::rolleyes::D
