mealy bug - thanks alot!

was out the back the other day and noticed one of the more established plants had what looked like a fungus all over it - closer inspection I saw it was mealy bug and every single stem on the 35 year old japonica was covered in it:( - from base of plant to tops of leaves and it had began to spread onto other plant near it - so it had to come out - spent the next hour cutting it right back to base and doing so covered myself in mealy bugs - this I didnt know till I went indoors and then began to dance like michael jackson and wave my arms about in the livingroom trying to get it all off my head and body:D...
so I know have a rather large area in the garden which hasnt seen daylight for quite a few years and I dont know what to do with it..

so thanks to the mealy bug for giving me a job I didnt want to do, for making me dance like a tit and for leaving with me a huge area and not knowing what to do with it...

You could have sprayed then with "malathion " they also don't like a very small amount of diesel mixed with water and painted on . VERY SATISFIYING ...
