Another one never to return........

Just been reading this on the LET, needs alot of money spending on it if they want to turn it into a home............:( used to enjoy going in as my first pub/drink of the night before we hit the town!!! Them were the days Accy were busy on a Frs/Sat/Sun night!!!;);)

Plan to turn historic Accrington pub into family home (From Lancashire Telegraph)

It would an excellent home for a Somali refugee, his four wives and fifteen kids.

At the risk of incensing Benipete, another example of breweries dictating to people. Thou shalt not use this as a pub ever again.

The Peel Park Hotel has become a thriving pub from what it once was now it is freed from the trappings of brewery management.

Yeh, spotted that myself Heth.. couldn't remember the name of the pub.

Agree though with comments ... better than letting the building fall into disrepair. Can't say would like the position myself though.

yeah I agree with the comments aswel Katex, better to use it rather than look at yet another eye-sore!!! Wonder how much it would cost just to do it up, maybe if I win lottery then this could be a lil project!!

Ken Moss - Yep agree about the Peel, they do a good trade in that pub and I should know spend many a hour there! :))

Still not heard why 6 or 7 Police Cars were outside there the other day, not seen anything in the papers about it, they'd blocked off bottom of Road, and officers were going in with gloves on!!

Best Regards - Taggy

Blimey.

How sad.

What the Temperance movement failed to do, has been acieved by the supermarkets, and the smoking ban.

Big place.

Make a lovely home for a refugee, who wanted ease of access to the town centre.

The Peel Park have a Landlord and Landlady who know what they're doing when it comes to running busy pubs The started in the Bridge then moved to the Grey Horse, think they had something to do with the Marlborough Club at one time, now they're at the Peel Park

Well there you go again jumping to conclusions because in this case I happen to agree with you.
By all means they can sell it if they so wish having been unable to make it viable but I agree they should not be able to dictate It's future use.:(.

Peel Park is by all accounts a well run establishment and I wish them well,(not sure who owns it). :gooddog: Down Ken.:D:D

Did you go in The Bridge before Dave and Sue had it Jaysay? Ella used to have it then...Red Haired Lady, rather Fanny Craddock like!...She was either Dave's Mum or Sue's, i cant recall which, she still used to help out there quite often when they took over, quite a character!

Best Regards - Taggy

When I started going in Dave was landlord, but Ella still worked in the pub, the reason I spend so much time there was the town team (Pool) were based there and I was the league secretary, took over when Terry Birtwell did a runner, I totally revamped the whole set up and got sponsors with the help of Dave, Ella was Sue's Mum, Dave's a Brummie:rolleyes:
