Milly's - Accrington cafe
 

Me, my best friend and her mum went into town (accrington) and we decided to go for something for lunch.
My friend and her mum had very high exspections for Millies as they used to go alot before. They said it was amazing. so i was like okay lets go. (i'd never been before)
So we went in.
Sat down. The cafe looked really cute with all the sweets around for decoraton.
Well anyway we got served pretty much straight away. which was good. And then these youngish girls served us. and she was talking so us in a very slow and dull tone.
Our teas (drinks) which were pretty much half full. :/. and then we had to get some new milk. As the milk on the table wasnt fresh.
We ordered our food eventually. The women in charge came and politiey and told us that we would have to wait around 10 minutes because they had to run out for some more bacon. which we didnt mind.
So after been told this around 12:50, the women brung the food over at around 1:45.
Which was cold!!! we couldnt believe it. We saw the person bring the bacon in at about 5 minutes after he went out to get it. so it was pretty strange that it took 45/1hour to cook some strips of bacon and sausages.
So my friends mum wasnt going to sit there and eat it cold. so obviously she poliety said to the women in charge sorry but its freezing cold!

So then. her mum went and payed for the cups off tea that we had. and one of the younger girls working there. Said to her mum. (as i quote) ' its not our fault were short staffed'!!!
But that doesnt give them the right to serve us cold food. Also the cafe wasnt that busy.
These other customers came in. and there table had still had the previous customers plates on! and they sat there waiting for ages. so my friends mum had to tell them what had happend. cos its was quite ridiculous!
Ohh and whilst we was waiting 45-1 hour for our meal to come, the girls went out side for a break!!! i was shocked!!

This is no disrespect to millies in no way shape or form. maybe they were just having an off day. i just thought i should share with you amazing accy webbers! :D hahaaaaa!
Sorry only just posted this thread now, but this was a couple off weeks back.


Sorry for he bad review. But then again, hopefully some one from Millies, sees this thread, and takes it as good critism!

Thanks for the other recommendation about Imposta tho Sarah, have managed to go in a few times just recently.
The hot chocolate is ace! :D

Next time you go in, try one of their all-day breakfast sarnies. Absolutely top-notch.

I have tried a cheese toastie only last week which was rather nice.. Not too sure if I'd like the whole breakfast thing on a sandwich :)

Never tried Millies and won't be now! Imposta does not really look inviting to me. I can; however recommend Moccachinos Cafe in Accrington, very upmarket, serving fabulous Fayre, though a little bias as 2 of my friends are the proprietors! ;):)

Well i know his son used to run it, but he's got the one upstairs in the Market Hall now, which is why i was wondering about Millys, cos the son cant be running both?

When we went in, i remember my friends mum saying that was a pms son? And he was the one who went to go and get the bacon cos they ran out, but this was months ago :) <3 xx

Could be he owns & runs both but divides his time between them ! I know a fella over here who ran 2 chippies in 2 different towns & another fella who ran 2 Pubs again in different Towns. Both had a "Manager" for when they weren't there & to keep things ticking over.
