Irrespective of Cable being an idiot, I am disgusted by the antics of some of these so-called 'students' today and over the last few weeks. In my day you went on peaceful demonstrations which were sometimes about love and war and legalising wacky baccy; other times about the need for a 50% increase in our grant (remember, in those days we had 25% inflation). This violence we have seen is totally uncalled for. Send in the dogs, fire the CS gas and give 'em hell and end this nonsense now.

Totally agree. Any students that are identified as taking part in the damage should be sent down and never allowed to get another university place.
If they think they will change the policy by these demonstrations only goes to prove that they are stupid, in which case they shouldn't be at university anyway. Where else do they get free university education - not the US or Australia for sure.

We don't get free education here...

Scotland is cheaper.

France fees range from 150-750 euros a year.

Germany is free in in 11/16 states and has a limit of 500 euros a year in the other 5.

At the age of 17 children will make the decision to go into debt that will take until they are 42 to pay off

I think I am getting a bit disillusioned with politics as we have them today .

Vince Cable comes across as a genuine , nice guy .

It must be something to do with all power corrupting .
I am not referring to him as a person , but the corrupting of his ideals .
