No trains....................
The latest is that theres no local trains on SUNDAYS until 20th Feb. Bus replacement services are in operation. Don't know if that info will be any use to anyone? Maybe worth checking before you travel ;)

Re: No trains....................
Yes, Atarah, who is involved in this usually keeps us informed, however, does no harm to mention it again. :)
"Can I just mention that tomorrow (Sunday only)from Hebden Bridge all the way to Blackburn and the return journey, it is COACHES. So be prepared! This includes Burnley Manchester Road and Accrington. The bus stop at Accrington is by The Imperial Pub. Anyone needs more info, just pm me." ^^ post by Atarah just before Christmas. Looks like they have extended it then. |
Re: No trains....................

While enjoying my Sunday cough outside the Railway Hotel it was wonderful to see the array of vintage Coaches used as a substitute for the rail service. Oh how happy the passengers looked. :o |
Re: No trains....................
Can do while I'm at work, although railway and interesting don't always mix lol

It appears that having no snow or leaves on the lines has completely thrown the powers that be into chaos.:hehetable

Re: No trains....................
Its an absolute nightmare!! I had to get to Preston one Sunday night a couple of week ago. Bus turned up on time at Church & Oswaldtwistle, got to Blackburn no problem, next stop is Mill Hill after that the bus driver got lost when he eventually found Cherry Tree(next stop) he went to the wrong side of the station and had to go back to it after going to the next stop. He then got lost again and myself and another lad had to guide the driver using our GPS on our phones. By the time we got to Preston I had missed my connection and had to wait for over an hour. It took just over 2 hours to get to Preston from Ossy.
My advice is DO NOT travel on a Sunday if you don't have to. I've arranged with my uni placement so I don't have to anymore. It was so stressful and a complete waste of time. As if the trains aren't bad enough!!! |
