Taxi strike.

Saw something in this weekend's Observer, about Hyndburn taxi firms supporting a taxi strike in Rossendale/Bacup way.

Last night someone I know tried to book a cab to take them to Bury, but was told they could take them, but not bring them back, because of the strike.

All sounds odd.

Anyone know what it's all about?

Know nothing about it, but I hope they spend the time offroad bringing their cabs back to legal standards.

RBC want to change the taxi licensing .. introducing penalty points .. and get 9 points in a 3 month period you get to take your driving standards agency test again ... the taxi drivers dont agree .... this has been going on for months .... theyre even talking about going on strike for a week ....

It said in the Observer Hyndburn taxis are supporting the strikers.

They would not take a booking back from Bury last night, citing the strike.

Seems odd though.

Take you there, just not bring you back.

Why, do you know why the Hyndburn taxi firms are supporting them, or sort of?

Or do you mean they should take me to Bury, but not bring me back?

I belive there's electricity in most parts of the area, nowadays.

So I'm sure I'd be fine. Though I'm not that keen on black pudding.

:)

Tough.

London/New York/Paris/Bury I'll always be here.

Like Athlete's foot.

Only more stubborn, and irritating.

:D

I think this should be a real law not a local one.
Watched a taxi driver sat in his taxi smoking while while pipping his horn for someone. If he is collecting then he is working so should not be smoking, give him 3 points for that pleaded. And spitting out if his window was not very professional either.

I were walking down the street the other day going to see me Grandma and a taxi driver came down the street and when it approached he shoulted out the window

"Hello, Hello, Hello sexy"

What do they expect women to do when they do this?
He thought he may get lucky but instead he just got my middle finger flicked at him :D
