Filled up today on Tyendenaga Mohawk Territory for 97 cents a litre. In town it would have been $1.12. No complaints, a little high, but it seems to be heading down.

Further to Accymans comments Mancie, it's good to see you've grasped the facts prior to making unfounded accusations (as usual).

(1) In the year 2000 ?

(2) You know this to be fact do you ?

(3) And the part of the T&GWU in all of this ?

Once again Mancie, you don't fail to convince folk of your rabid anti anything Labour (especially if it's Tory) hatred & prejudice ! No doubt you'll be calling me a faggoty Tory Boy lover for these observations & as I've stated previously on numerous occasions, I hold no allegiance to any party but that doesn't suit your views so I must be a Tory !

If I had to choose a party I'd probably select UKIP, so how does that fit in with your delusions then ? The truth be known the fuel issue has always been used by whichever government is in power at the time to fill depleted coffers & it will remain so until an alternative can be found. As long as fuel is needed the government will continue to milk its people.

.. I don't see where your name was mentioned in my post?
As for the fuel blockades I know what I saw and heard... there was a news report during the protest at a fuel depot where a "farmers leader" was interviewed, this man told the reporter that "we in the countryside alliance will not stop until we have brought down this government".. maybe not an exact quote but that was about the gist of it.

It's not just fuel we should be carping about. Today's press are forecasting a £200.00 rise in the cost of the Road Fund Licence. Crap living in the UK, innit? Unless your an illegal immigrant, of course - then you can live in a mansion at taxpayers expense!

BP garage opposite Mc donalds £1.41.9
Tesco express Abbey St £1.37.9
Shell Burnley Rd (Spar) £138.9

8p per Ltr = 36p per Gallon, that's about £4.00 a tank or £200 quid a year it pays to shop around

I've just been to Asda and it's gone up to £1.36 since you posted this :(

Mancie, Mancie, Mancie, there really is no need to define anyone by name. Your contempt & distaste for anyone who would disagree your jaded views is quite plain irrespective of their personal views or allegiances if any.

Because they are against your beloved Tonyness & Broonisms, they are stereotypically "Stinking Tories" according to the book of Mancie. On more than one occasion, I myself & others with divergent opinions to your indoctrinated beliefs have been branded as "Tories" for merely disagreeing your position & statements. There are non so blind as those that will not see. :) (You aren't the only one Mancie, there are others who're blinkered too who slavishly follow their beliefs)

It wasn't "Tory landowning gentry" that stood the picket lines & threatened labours rule, it was average folk from across the political spectrum who felt unheard & ignored by their supposed benefactors. In fact it was these said benefactors that brought the full gamut of Police & Military to the table, to threaten & outlaw the rights of the protesters, aye Socialism is a wonderful thing if you're one of the party faithful & as long as you know your place.

In your Socialist land of Milk & Honey everyone will get free fuel so the problems will be null & void, but until that time....... the Arabs own the oil & we've just got to suck it up & keep paying the extortionate taxes on fuel to pay for your dream. :bleedht:

Re: Petrol prices, fill up at your peril

Incidentally the actual fuel price here at the moment is :-

Diesel € 1,46 = GBP 1,27
Petrol € 1,51 = GBP 1,32

Thing is they've brought in an E10 petrol version, while cheaper it has an addition of 10% ethanol which is being forced through to save the World & Polar Bears. Lots of people are unsure of its compatibility & are not using it causing the Government some major aggravation on the subject. Some reports are stating that about 10% of the cars on the road now can't use it without some adverse affect.

Thrice my name ..nay thrice..Frankie Howard fan eh?:)... and you reckon it was "average folk from across the political spectrum" who felt unheard and ignored?.. and so it was just by coincidence the Countryside Alliance was formed in 1997 shortly after the elections?
Besides any political leanings I'm asking why there was a protest about fuel prices then, yet the farmers, "country folk" and big haulage companies seem to be a lot less active now when we have higher fuel prices (and taxes on fuel) than those days.. a different colour of government?

Due to legislation which was in place then & tightened up when his Tonyness had the pish & wind knocked out of him by the level of civil disobedience shown by all concerned, even the socialists weren't exactly happy with his attitude to his "loyal supporters".

Britain: government threatens anti-strike laws following fuel tax protests

As to Frankie Howerd, yes I enjoyed his humour especially his character Lercio in "Up Pompeii". :)

That's as maybe, but if you look at appendix B on this particular M.o.U, you'll see why there is such reluctance.

Re: Petrol prices, fill up at your peril

was in france last week, teh fuel was 1.44 euro/litre for "normal" and 1.51 euro for premium which comes out at slightly less than UK prices however.....

to travel on the motorway from calais to Paris ( ~ 200 miles) cost another 20 euros in tolls. I know you can make it on non toll roads but there is only 1 toll motorway I'm aware of in the UK and thats only to avoid potential Q's rather than any actual replacement of the main route.

Thing is its now costing me ~ 400 pounds a month just in diesel to get to work without all the other running costs of my car. not good but we dont appear to be alone in this apart from those on the wrong side of the Atlantic... :D

I like living on the "wrong side of the Atlantic" in a country that supplies its own oil, and is the major supplier of imported oil for our gas guzzling neighbours. I paid 75 p a litre for premium gas today. My un-green '90 Caddy with a 5.5 litre V8 now has a full tank.:D I filled the tank in my winter beater, a 94 Chev Suburban, a few weeks ago. It cost $134.00. And I still have a quarter tank left.:theband:

Ok ... I'll shut up;) .... but, I have a question: What ever happened to North Sea oil? As a major oil producer, shouldn't your gas prices be lower? Lower fuel prices, particularly diesel, would help the economy big time. I'm sure most consumer goods are moved around the country courtesy diesel powered trucks (oops ... lorries) and trains. Lower fuel costs should lower the price of goods and services.
