Dialect phrases to describe Hyndburn (Greater Accrington)

Interesting link from the BBC news website , seems the "arts" folks of Nelson have come up with a good/interesting concept to preserve their heritage for future generations , (no flash mobs or crotcheted willy warmers)

BBC News - Old Pendle dialect phrases to be put on cube artworks

so what do the users of Accy web think would be the best 'dialect' sayings to be carved in stone to describe Hyndburn/Greater Accrington for future generations ...

answers in local dialect only ;)

Just a little wonder, remember coming home late one night when I was only 17 well sozzled, the old dear was stood at the door house coat on hairnet and curlers head nodding like a pigeon. Drunk agean John, Ya mum so am I, that was one of the few times the old lady smacked me round the ear:D

Tha can caw me what that wants, but don't caw me late fer mi dinner.
(translation - you can call me what you want, but don't call me late for my dinner)
When we used to ask what was for dinner, Ma used to tell us it's duck and roll....duck under't table and roll or tha'll bang thi ead.....another one was....to the same question...a run and jump up the buttery (pantry) door....which meant we were getting nowt.

When our hair was a mess, my gran would say she had seen better hair on bacon(I never understood this...I never saw hair on bacon).

and to those of us who always wanted our own way, that was ME......she would say 'She wants all er own rooad and a bag to purrit in.

I can do owt, bar wheel missel in a barrow.
(I'm quite talented and I know it)
referring to someone who thinks themself to be smart(as above) it would be said...'he has ten bob on hissel'(he has ten bob on himself)
A women with a lot of make up on......'bad soil teks a lot of top dressing'....top dressing being manure.

said before a fight......'dusta want some clog toe pie'

Going back to the old days, my grandad was a most mild mannered man...except when he had had a skinful....and back then he could be inebriated off just a couple of pints(was beer stronger back then?)........he used to drink in the Woodnook.....my gran would go down there and shout through the door 'George...hasta fowt yet? Get fowt, your dinners ready'

I don't really remember this but my auntie Phyllis(his daughter) used to tell me about it.
He mellowed with age and took to singing(badly) instead of fighting.

You'd think the price should have gone up, as inflation rose.

Today cheese at fourpence wouldn't be there very long.
