Re: AV an overwhelming No
at last some sense prevails........Now, How about one on the EU?....that'd sort things out very nicely.

Re: AV an overwhelming No
yep and you can see why they wont ever referendum on europe because it would get the same response and they know it hence no referendum
|
Re: AV an overwhelming No
the only sensible choice IMHO. The way i see it is simple- "No-One" wants to change anything in life, unless there is a benefit to them! the Lib-Dems would benefit big time by A.V. so Clegg wanted it= Fair Play to him, The Tories would not Benefit so Cameron was against it= Fair Play to him, Labour would not benefit yet Milliband was for it:confused: = Numpty, pains me to say that but its the way i see A.V.

Re: AV an overwhelming No
It seems to me the point of casting your vote is to install the candidate of your choice in office. Not some second or third choice person who just happens to be on the same voting sheet.

Re: AV an overwhelming No
The vote was never going to go any other way and everyone knew it. There was no appetite for electoral reform and no interest in it. This was purely Cameron and the Tories squandering OUR money on a bribe to keep the LibDems onside.
Now could we have a referendum on something that matters?...the large scale loss of our national sovereignty to Brussels as the EU moves further and further towards the creation of the United States of Europe. Could any Accyweb members of major political parties explain why we are denied this? |

I'd drink to that! |

At least the new Government has pledged that no further powers can be devolved to Europe without a referendum, so any future moves towards a United States of Europe will be stalled. |

As for Cameron's "pledge"...oh yeah, sure! ;) Incidentally, Gynn, I can't figure you out. I assume you're a member of a major party but which one? |

I'm not a member of any of the political parties. I can see good and bad in both left and right, but would never nail my colours to the mast of one or t'other. |
