What do you think John.
I hate Europe with a passion....not the countries, but the organisation.
Ted Heath has a lot to answer for!

In the words of Monty Python, what have the Europeans ever done for us?

after careful consideration i have come to the conclusion that the E.U. can get stuffed.

I have that attitude towards ALL flags.
Patriotism is fine but flags are symbols of ownership, and no-one owns me.
Flags were summed up nicely in this short video
YouTube - Eddie Izzard - Do you have a flag?

Re: Will you be flying the flag tomorrow

Gotta agree wi MargaretR, have never flown a flag fer any reason, so this would be a damn poor reason to start.:D

Flying the flag proudly and standing for the EU national anthem, oh yes, indeed!

And how appropriate that on this day of days, we have yet another reason to celebrate the EU. Those fun loving Greeks are in yet more financial trouble and we may have the opportunity to donate yet more billions from our bulging coffers to bail them out again and support the Euro - a cause which is very close to our hearts. How wise and foresightful Mr Brown and Mr Darling were when they signed us up to the agreement that requires us to donate large sums of money to fellow members in dire financial straits.

No wonder our new national anthem is called "Ode To Joy"!

Re: Will you be flying the flag tomorrow

Europe Day:eek: 'Fraid I've never heard of it. Seems to be a popular event over there:rolleyes: Is it just the flag and the anthem? Or will there be festivities: dancing in the streets, street vendors selling snails and sauerkraut, placing bets on which of the basket case economies will go under first?:dancedog:

And, of course I'll be flying the flag. The Maple Leaf:alright:

You old cynic, Jay! I am genuinely celebrating EU Day because it's "the occasion for activities and festivities that bring Europe closer to its citizens and peoples of the Union closer to one another." Just think how much closer we'll be to the Greeks by bunging them another lot of dosh. They'll be smashing plates in our honour all night long!
