When I first got elected the first meeting I ever went to was with the late Cllr John Griffiths and extra pylons were on the agenda as the power grid for Hyndburn is approaching its limit. The impending construction of more wind turbines on Ossy moor may have something to do with it.

Without photos I can't tell you what they are for. But if they are yellow they are pre-paint or temporary. Ken the nearest major substation is Padiham and that is currently ongoing refurbishment. Extra pylons would be quite rare more likely full circuit upgrades.
