Strange goings on with black cats!
Anyone had strange experiences with black cats?
I know there is suspicions about them but it seems everytime I see a black cat something weird happens. Last time was winter at night as I walked passed a school with kids coming out and their parents. There was a busy road running by - suddenly a black cat ran across the road through all the traffic and onto the pavement - just at that moment a young woman fell flat on her face and a bunch of people crowded round asking if she was ok! Just seemed odd that this happened as this cat came over. Kestrel x :dflam: |
Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
Strange smelling eggs are laid in the flowerpots every time next door's black cat comes into my back yard and I come over all angry and resentful.
Coincidence? |
Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
Remember the Matrix cat?
YouTube - ‪matrix‬‏ I have experienced such 'action replays' recently. I have realised that linear time isn't real - just a device our brains use to organise our 'reality'. PS also known as deja vu |

Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
I have a black cat ( rehomed as an abused cat and now I know why it was abused!) It's bloody horrible, vicious, constantly attacking me when I just walk past it, damn thing has tried to leg me up on the stairs about 3 times, and I'm sure it can time travel, it gets about the pad in a very suspicious manner. My other cat ( Eric ) is lovely but this one is just evil.

Everytime I watch a Lassie film, whilst wearing my coat with the fur trim, all the hairs stand on end.

Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
For well over 20 years a cat followed me.From the Scottish border well in to North Wales.
I never saw It but whenever I laid a Granite or Concrete floor/path the sod always left It's prints even If I had covered them up.:mad::flamethro |

He did belong to my daughter and think he may have been a little untrusting as granddaughter was only young then and treated him like a doll .. dressing him up as such. He disappeared about three years ago when I was on holiday and, despite his temperament, was quite upset and missed him. Maybe you have him now, although can assure you he was not abused .. I was the one that was. Mind you, think he would be about 13/14 years now. |
Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
I have a Tuxedo Cat........all black apart from her chest which is like a shirt front....and she has white socks too.
She walked into my house a couple of months after my husband had his stroke, she draped herself around his shoulders, definitely making a big fuss of him....she was only a kitten....she brought his smile back(he had been quite low in mood)........we asked around to see who she belonged to, but no-one claimed her....so she stayed. Himself paid for her to be neutered, and she is definitely his cat. Lovely and gentle. That is my black cat story! |
Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
Yes, Margaret, nothing to do with the colour of hair (I hope).
Us Redheads having been putting up with categorising for years... :gorgeous::D I'm just a puddycat really. |

Maybe you are attracting the strange happenings because of your belief that black cats have some kind of (for want of a better word) 'hex' attached to them.

Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
You are using 'mind power' without realising it.
When you saw a black cat, then something strange happen, you associated the two as being connected. Now it has become your expectation, so strangness will happen when you see one. We all have the power of manifestation to some extent - ie - if you think of, and expect, bad events, they will happen to some degree. The Power of Positive Thinking and Attitude |
Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
Margarets' explanation is better than mine.......I didn't mention superstition which is, I think slightly different.
A hex, isn't superstition it is a curse, or a magical spell(more often a curse, because a curse has a malevolent intent). I am superstitious to a degree, but I know superstition is illogical and not founded on fact, but on myth. |
Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
It is hard to rid yourself of 'bad expectations'.
I cannot be rid of expecting our global financial system will break down completely. Because it is such a prevalent thought I console myself with the idea that it may well be a good thing.:D |

If what you say is true? How come I havn't won the lottery then when I have had positive attitude with intention when doing the lottery! :) One scenario with the black cat is that it was a witch in form of a black cat and read my thoughts which is why it turned suddenly! OH NO this is nonsense... on another occasion in the same area I saw a male acting very strange suggesting he was dabbling in the occult! |

While I am sure that animals can read our body language(I was going to say thoughts...but I'm not sure about that)....my cats know when I am going to comb them(or put drops in their ears)...the one who likes being combed comes to me...the other one runs and hides.......I would be interested to hear what the male was doing that made you suspect he was dabbling in witchcraft......and was it white witchcraft or the dark arts? |
Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
I think some of you lot have been dabbling in the waccy baccy:confused::confused::confused::confused: never mind the occult:dflam::dflam::do-one:

Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
in the nip, eh.......he must've either been daft or flecky!
A fresh air fiend. We used to have a chap lived near uswhen we were children.....he used to disrobe at the drop of a hat...we didn't know his real name, but we all knew him as 'Fresh air Freddy'.......he was what was politely known as 'nod all theer'.......or a bit divvy, not a full quid. There was no PC language when I was growing up. |
Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
anyway, I doubt that his state of undress had anything to do with the cat!
|
Re: Strange goings on with black cats!
I don't think they ever caught "Fresh Air Freddie" did they Margaret, can remember when I was about 17 or 18 a gang of us when Freddie hunting, he seemed to well, not hang his cloths up, but more like put them back on:D
