Accy Accent flogs financial services
 

Like FIFA, Arab & African dictators and the Lib-Dems, we know that the British financial services industry is intrinsically corrupt. It is no surprise therefore, that in order to suggest otherwise one element has decided to employ an Accrington accent to convey a message of homely fidelity and honesty.

The advertisements currently being broadcast involve a variety of puppet animals and a voice over which sounds suspiciously like that of a well-known local cricketer - although, of course, it may not be him. The voice is used quite simply because of it's inherent trustworthiness.

But everyone knows the banks are dodgy! So do we really want our good name assocciated with this nonsense?

I have to agree that the accent sounds just like Bumble. Never knew that the Accy accent conveyed trustworthiness though. :)

10 years ago I was told by my boss in leafy cheshire that my accent was one of my strengths as it conveyed honesty and integrity so I'm not surprised myself.

Yep, it's our very own David Lloyd, don't see what the problem is or why anyone should get their knickers in a twist, he's a lovely bloke, self made man and proud of his roots and heritage . ( verified by me having spent many a sunny day in Fleetwood with him and the family as a nipper) Way to go Bumble. ( By the way you owe me a pint....):hothothot

ps he hasn't made too many dodgy financial decisions to my knowledge and has certainly done alright for himself!

I'm just listening to him on Cricket AM he's a scream, he could defo have made it as a stand up comic if he had made a career out of the willow and leather;)
