Re: Longest day of the year!
Midsummer always brings back memories of my 'longest day'.
It was 22nd June 1965, when I was in (childbirth) labour from dawn til dusk. |

Re: Longest day of the year!
As an amateur ancient history enthusiast, I can confidently report that Stonehenge predates the celtic druidic cult.
They have 'adopted' it as 'theirs', but it is really prehistory that belongs to all of us. |

Re: Longest day of the year!
You don't need to go to Scandinavia, to experience the Land of the Midnight Sun.
Even in Scotland at this time of year, it never really goes dark. You can still see light from the sun setting in the west, whilst at the same time the dawn's already breaking in the east. It's weird, coming out of a boozer in the Highlands at 2am, and it still being light. Ying and yang though. In December it's light for about forty three minutes. It's no wonder there's so many alcoholics, and suicide cases in Sweden. It could also explain the Krankies. |
