I'm afraid that it would break the confidentiality agreement I have with HBC to protect resident anonymity so I will not be revealing the identity of anyone who asks any question.

However, the sheer volume of complaints suddenly being received raises questions all of its own, for instance why now and not pre-May?

It's almost as if some third party influence is trying to make this a big issue.

HBC tweeted a link to one of their news stories asking for grot spots to be reported recently. Maybe that is why, I cant see it being due to this thread.

Surely, just like a new government, a new council starts off with a flurry of activity to show they mean business. Maybe, voters have realised this and are reporting the problems because they think there's more chance of something being done about them than there was in the final days of t'other lot.

...or is that too straightforward in the murky world of local politics?!!

As I said, having residents report problems is a good thing because it shows where we're going wrong and can do better. It also saves employing someone to go round the borough hunting out grotspots.

That said, the Accyweb member who is sending Cllr Pritchard dozens of e-mails is being extremely thorough about things, particularly the bits of litter behind a bush in Milnshaw Park that no one seems to have even known was there before.

So long as enough detail is included in the report to HBC there is no problem but sending e-mails to councillors is a complete waste of time because we only have to forward them on to the Enquiries address anyway, it doesn't speed things up or 'cut out any bull' as is seemingly believed.

As with everything, there is a right way and a wrong way of going about it.

I've probably had more of a reaction to that post than any other I've ever made.

Must be five years spent at art school.

Perhaps I should ditch posting words altogether, and just use a purely illustrative means of communicating on here.

I have just had this discussion with a group of people in the park who are not happy with the way dog fouling patrols are happening. I said if you don't report it no one will know.

The reply was "Nothing happens when we do report it so why bother" I tried to explain that the more reports for and area and hopefully something will be done.

I don't agree, a few years ago I emailed an LCC officer about yellow zig zigs with our then County Councillor and another County Councillor who had been in the paper about a similar story (cant remember who and I have never met them), the problem was sorted out on a Sunday 3 days later. There is a thread about it on here somewhere.

Some of your other comments I will wait till I see you and discuss personally so people on here don't jump to the wrong conclusion. I have a lot of respect for you Ken and the way you think about things and certain people like to twist things so I just deleted most of my post.

Sorry again I could not meet yesterday, we had an awesome day at Blackpool though.
