Invisible Litter

I can see the litter in these pictures but it appears to be invisible to some

Re: Invisible Litter

I take it this litter was missed by the guys who pick/brush it up?

Normally, when I've seen them at work, they're very thorough.

Am I mistaken in thinking there are rubbish bins very close to where you took those pics?

It would help keep Accy clean if some lazy arsed sods used the bleeedin' bins in the first place.

He emptied the bins at either end, so walked past all the rubbish twice.

I agree with your last sentence, I would imagine a litter warden on commision would be the best paid council employee in Hyndburn

Idiot.

Them, not you.

I don't know how many people there are doing this job, but the one I see on Tuesday afternoon on Broadway picks up every scrap of litter, and even asks you to move, if you're stood near any.

Sadly, I suppose as in any job, some people work harder than others, and don't take any pride in their work.

The one yesterday even swept the roadside, very thorough.

Re: Invisible Litter

Street litter was the problem addressed by government regulation in 1991.

At that time I was Premises Officer at Melbourne House.
The car parks and walkways were subject to those regulations, and I recall being instructed that it was my responsibilty to arrange the clearance of litter from them.

The instructions specified the frequency of that clearance, and I recall that 'town centre' sites stipulated 'daily'.
The frequency reduced the further from a town centre you got.

Just picturing you going round the car park at Melbourne House with your brush and shovel Margaret.:D

Incidentally I noticed when I was down Accy this week that there were For Sale signs on Melbourne house

Our cleaners were 'in house' employed then, so I delegated.
The year after I left, my job and theirs were privatised.
