A hairdressing course where you cant cut hair because scissors are dangerous, can you get more stupid?

Whoever allowed that should be sacked.

I don't mind the courses if they are a useful route into employment. That is all qualifications are anyway but I don't agree with all this equivalent terminology. If the course is any good and is recognised by people in that trade as such it does not need an equivalent, it will stand up on its own.

I also dont agree you can do an NVQ in school.

NVQ's are supposed to be

Quote:

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are work based awards in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that are achieved through assessment and training.
So they are at school not work and how can you be assessed if you have not cut anyone hair.

Let them train properly and give them a meaningful qualification that stands up in its own right, not a GCSE or NVQ because they are neither.
