"...he had a piece of plastic overflow pipe in his hand which he used as a “teaching aid”" - quote of the day by far.

Re: Mosque teacher
Leaving a mark must mean quite a heavy blow.
If I were the mother of the child hit on the lower back, I'd be watching his urine very carefully for signs of blood which could mean kidney damage. |
Re: Mosque teacher
I didn't start the thread Neil. Bee must have some opinion.....unless whoais an opinion.
I didn't say I was in favour of hitting pupils, and didn't make any comment which would make you think that this behaviour was acceptable either. I was just asking Bee to clarify his point, to post his feelings, ideas, opinions on the link he has started a thread with. Maybe he thinks it is acceptable.....will we ever know? |

A bit like the olden days, when I was at school.
When if you got caught messing about in lessons, you got whacked with a two foot cane. |

Mainly for being dumb, and getting caught. :D |

What football club does he support with that yellow scarf? Does anyone know? Whatever, it looks disgusting. And what's he doing with a Christmas cake on his head?

Re: Mosque teacher
Yes, you can,t touch the little darlings, you might get their attention. They might actually learn something. I know that we had a lot more respect for our teachers than todays kids do {in general** and we didn't come to any harm any harm any harm???

They'd have been to very similar schools. Were you got whacked if you caused trouble. If your grandparents turned out to be violent criminals, please ignore this post. :D |
Re: Mosque teacher
Some teachers inflicted corporal punishment for fun (their own).
As a public school boy I expect that you were aware of that. |

They were good teachers, and were always fair, when doling out punishment. The only teachers I saw, who seemed to get pleasure from inflicting pain, were at Rhyddings. Especially a mad Irish man, who really should have been in a secured ward, rather than teaching French. Mind you, I suppose he was fair too, because as well as hitting others, he also indulged in self-flagellation, with a leather strap. I don't really see the need to mention I was a 'public school boy'. Unless you believe the myth that they are hot beds of sin and perversion. They aren't. No more so than in the state schools, which I also attended. ;) |
Re: Mosque teacher
Agreed - just because I have met one ex public school master (living within 10 miles of here) who was exposed in The News of the World when caught in a sadomasochistic act with the matron, does not make it prevalent practice.

You need to get out more. I could introduce to ten within three miles...from the state sector. ;) |
Re: Mosque teacher
The favoured method of punishment when I was at school was the table tennis bat or ruler across the back of the knuckles.
Having talked with children who have been to school in Pakistan it is quite normal there for them to be punished by being hit on the soles of their feet with a stick. My only real concern here is if a child was hit in a way which could cause a serious injury then that would be a dangerous criminal assault and should never happen. |

He might be happier converting to Christianity.

Re: Mosque teacher
To me its no surprise that we have far more unruly behavior now that when I was in my youth, in those days, if you did wrong at school you paid the price, be it the cane slipper ruler across the knuckles blackboard dust round your ears. Today kids can do just what they want in class have little or no respect for authority of any kind, because some bleeding heart liberal told them they have rights, in my day you had to earn that right, never did me much harm nor I would think a lot more people from my generation

Re: Mosque teacher
we used to get cracked on the back of the head with a metre ruler, i dont think she was actually allowed to it, it was about 20 years ago.
|
Re: Mosque teacher
I never got hit at school as I am only a young un!! :D :D (John dont you say anything!!)
I dont disagree with it though, kids in class now get away with loads as they know they can wind the teacher up so much verbally and then get sent out of class with no real punishment. |

Re: Mosque teacher
Disgusting I calls it. Soddin' immigrants coming over here with their alien ideas like disciplining children and keeping order in the classroom. It's about time he fell into line with British culture - we let our kids do what they want!
