re: Thatchers eighties are back - London Riots
The same place as your capital letters and puctuation...find them and you might find the Government.
The man the riot started over was a crook...a petty criminal. He shot a policeman.....but his family say he wasn't an aggressive man.......but he was carrying a gun? How is that not aggressive? The riot started out as a protest.....since when did protesters loot retail parks and run off with trolley loads of clothes, Televisions. computers....since when did looting become part of a protest?? You are so blinkered in your ideas.......and when you think you are not winning the argument, you change the course of the thread and ask where the government is. Quite plainly, pathetic. |
re: Thatchers eighties are back - London Riots
So a man shoots at Police, he is then shot and killed, regrettable but that's what happens and a bunch of thugs decide to riot.
Good job it did not happen in Accrington, after all your beloved Labour government closed our police station at night. This is what happens when you make firearms illegal and fail to put measures in place to deal with the consequences, oh sorry that was you lot did that. Oh and I am still waiting for you to show us a posting you made before last years general election, that criticised, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown or any one in the Labour government, as I could not find one post in your history. |

nobody knows what happened thats why there is an investigation. i have admitted that labour made mistakes but still done good for the poor thats why the crime rates went down and now the tories are back crime is rising again and i know why .if you made fre arms legal every police man/woman would have to have a gun and that would cost billions.where are the tory ministers:confused:

Where were you when Labour were screwing the country, oh yes you never said a word. You really think people believe anything you say, you have a link to private eye, did you used to just read the funny pages and miss everything before the vicar of st wherever it was. I must admit I do like Dave Snooty though.

The police only carry guns in certain circumstances. The shooting of Mark Duggan was one of those circumstances....he was(allegedly) carrying a firearm...he was a threat to the police...but aah, he wasn't aggressive...he was just 'into some things'....criminal activities. Quote:

re: Thatchers eighties are back - London Riots
This link provides an interesting video indicating that spending cuts may well have contributed to these riots
Haringey youth club closures: 'There'll be riots' - video | Society | guardian.co.uk |
re: Thatchers eighties are back - London Riots
so they closed 8 of 13 youth clubs n agree it may have contributed to this mayhem, are kids today incapable of making there own amusement? if so what does that tell yeh?

re: Thatchers eighties are back - London Riots
No, the riot was as a result of a protest for some guy who was shot by the police(while doing their duty)....the riot was an opportunty for looting and arson. It was an opportunity for feral youths to go on the rampage.....putting the lives of the emergency services at risk....mindless thugs. I don't think the closure of the youth clubs had anything to do with this riot.

I knew when they closed the public facilties on Peel St that signing a petition was not the right peaceful way to go about things. We should have burnt down the town hall, set fire to the Arndale and injured all the police who turned up to stop us. Seems that way is more justified these days
