I do share many of your political views, particularly about the (supposi)tories;) ... but we all know "oil" was the bottom line; so, the thread is a tad redundant.

If you are so concerned about the state of the nation, I suggest you go back to night school, learn the three 'R' and come back, hope fully with the ability to spell.
Failing that, why don't you buy you own island and set up your own republic?

He doesn't need to. The UK government has a policy of non-intervention in Syria, other than trade embargoes. Cmonstanley should move there - I am quite sure he will get all the support he needs from Assad to rant against misplaced western imperialist policy. But not only that, he could set up a branch of the Stanley supporters club. I'm quite sure there is not yet a Damascus branch so he could be the chairman of that in between machine-gunning some of the local demonstrators.
