The same laws don't apply to us.?

Seems the M.P. who was jailed fer 18 months fer fiddling expenses, has been released this morning, after serving only 4 months. so i ask are "All" the fraudsters in the nick gonna be let out as well? somehow i doubt it very much, so i am offering some advice to all up n coming fraudsters- go into politics, cos in the unlikely event you are caught @ jailed, yeh will only serve 25% of yer sentence, which is much less than cheating normally, just rob the taxpayer n yeh will be fine.

Also the Libdems are apparently complaining that the sentences passed on the rioters are "too severe". A sentence is a sentence and the full term should be served, if the convicts don't behave while incarcerated then increase the sentence and remove all privileges.

What I fail to understand is how the likes of David Chater can get legal aid to help him fight his case. He lives in a large house in Todmorden and with all his salary and expenses he should have enough to pay for himself.

That's illegal.

Not with my pretty boy looks. I'm not being any old lag's bitch for anything, and I definitely wouldn't pick the soap up if I dropped it in the shower!

:(

I'm with Barry on this, there is nothing illegal about removing privileges.
I kind of like the French system, there they don't try to reform you, they just punish you. They are very nasty places,

That's always been a bone of contention with me too Barry, I could never get my head round a murderer being given a life sentence, then the statement that follows, will have to serve a minimum of 12 years, why the hell call it a life sentence when clearly it isn't, just like somebody gets 2 years you know full well they won't even do six months, say what you like about the States but they seem to have a better sentencing system than we do

That's what prison should be about BG, not a place to go for an all expenses paid holiday with mod cons. That scumbag Huntley is living the life of Riley Sky TV, everything he needs at his beck and call, and don't forget the warders have to call him Mr Huntley too:mad::mad:

Your spell checkers working I see, Jay.

The UK penal system really does need a drastic overhaul, the reason we have the overcrowding is because sentencing is atrocious & the conditions far to soft to make the thought of prison a deterrent. There's far to much interference via ECHR & whining liberals, why should these low lifes have any claim to human rights when it was mainly their blatant disregard for other peoples human rights that got them sentenced & imprisoned in the first instance.

Sickening & infuriating.

Sorry for the confusion, I was talking about the increasing of a convicted person's sentence. If the convict breaks the law while in prison, he does not have his sentence automatically increased. He has to stand trial on the new offence. You can't increase someone's sentnce just because he happens to be a complete waste of skin.
