blackberry internet still down
 

there doesnt seem to be any news about when it will be back on or whats up with it, no bbm or email either, wonder if i'll get some money off my bill :rolleyes:?

Yesterday on SKY news they were saying it should be sorted within 48hrs -I only have a very basic Nokia so the problem has not hit me -I believe millions all over the world are being hit though.

I am sorry but I do find this quite funny.
I did not realise that so many services or users relied on this one data centre.

Have you lost your internet as well or just BBM and email?
Is your twitter and facebook down on your phone as well?

I don't really use instant messaging much but when I do its MSN.
Email is windows live but I have gmail as well
I use Tweetdeck on my phone but could just use the twitter app or web version.
Facebook is by app or web
My internet is either three mobile or my wifi and everything works on either.

All different services provided by different systems, I cant believe Blackberry are so reliant on these servers to work.

Another nail in the coffin for them

Work phone is a Blackberry, so I am not getting emails.
Just like when we are in Sub Sahara Africa.
Good job I can use the PC instead, not interested in Blackberryr Messaging, BBM.
and of course the Iphone is working perfectly

So how does internet on a Blackberry work then?

I assumed it was through your mobile provider except for BBM and email.

Does all Blackberry internet traffic go through this dodgy datacentre?

So does internet traffic go through your mobile provider and you have some mb in your contract ir do you pay Blackberry for the internet traffic?

Virgin Mobile offered to "upgrade" me to a Blackberry just yesterday, the salesperson seemed a little bemused when I opted to stick with my 2 year old Samsung!:rolleyes:

Did they not offer you a nice Android phone instead?
Samsung Galaxy Ace is a nice and not to big phone, my Sam has one.
If your thinking about and iphone remember that once they get you they dont like letting go and music and any videos you record appear to be in their own format - ask stanleymad about her fun moving from iphone to BlackBerry

They were discussing the blackberry breakdown on BBC Breakfast this morning, they were looking at an interview with a 15 year old I think it was in the Telegraph, this kid said that his life had stopped because blackberry had left him with no way of contacting his friends:eek::eek:don't you just feel for this poor sole, makes you wonder how he'd have coped in the 60s;)

My blackberry did well despite the downtime mine still worked thro wifi, I chose well on handset, older models took the brunt.

Iphone has its issues & has apple control in media even os5 requires sync to evil itunes wirelessly, if u go from an iphone to anything else anything u bought or recorded via iphone becomes appled, where format is problematic on other handsets still having issues with it. I can't speak for andriod, I've had a play but don't like the handsets dunno why just don't like em.
