I must apologize

Yesterday groove started a thread which included the name of a man which when spoken was rather crude.
I added to the thread with a post that also contained the name of a bus driver mate of mine which also sounded vulgar when spoken quickly and also mentioned the lady who shouted his name in innocence.

I am a 73 year old gentleman who has seen lot of life around the world and having been a serving soldier I can also use the old barrack room language and humour.
I now realize that what I posted was not suitable for an open forum where young children and women could see it and maybe take offence. That was not only unforgivable but on my part totally out of character.
I went back onto the forum later but could not find the thread to delete my post so I am hoping the moderator has deleted the whole thread.
I would like to take this opportunity to apologize most sincerely for any offence I might have caused to anyone and will make sure I don't repeat it.
To all the people who sent their good wishes and offers of help when I nearly lost my wife through heart failure I hope you don't think any less of me.

Thank you,

Re: I must apologize

I don't think any less of you.

Each and everyone of us does things, we sometimes later regret.

I think more of you, for posting such a sincere, and heartfelt apology.

Even if there's really no need for you to have done it.

I'm sure anything silly that was posted is now forgotten, so don't worry about it.

Onwards, and upwards.

I'm glad your good lady wife's now ok too.

:)

I missed it also, sod it Gremlin, fer me whatever it was shouldn't provoke n apology, that particular member would make the pope swear.;) hope yer missus is on the mend.

We all post things we later regret. In my case, it tends to be when I return home from a convivial evening at the local. Things seem so much clearer then!

Whatever it was that you posted, don't worry about it, i've got one of the biggest gobs on here and i always say what i mean, sod it, if people don't like it then they don't need to read it :)

Re: I must apologize

Gremlin, you are a gentleman, I am sure no one will think badly of you. I certainly don't.
Your post was in response to a ridiculous post by groove, looking for a non-existent school friend with a name which he thought was funny, but was just juvenile...the kind of things that even 12 year old boys have grown out of.
If the thread has been deleted then I am glad...it wasn't the least bit funny.

Your not like the nasty gremlins that lurk under my stairs, how very refreshing what a gent, well done fella!!!

Re: I must apologize

The only problem with the thread was that it was in the wrong section and as the member who started the thread is now allowed in the over 18's section I deleted the thread. I found the whole thread amusing, including your additions but it was not appropriate for the section it was in.

ach, Neil, I thought better of you than that! :D

You can only be admitted to the over 18's section once one of the mods has met you in person and is happy that you are who you say you are.

OMG Neil! You've met Groove!

That must have been a harrowing experiance. You have my deepest sympathies.

Re: I must apologize

^^ Neil. When you met Groove, did he appear in the third person?

The apology shows that you're a gent Gremlin. Reading it, nobody could think anything the contrary.

I have to admit to occasionally holding back from typing things on here. Certain vulgarities and sarcasm that I know I can share with friends in jest, but which might not be taken as intended by others. Like Gynn mentioned - getting back from the pub and responding to posts is dangerous territory.

Thanks John, by the way, how is George getting on.
My wife has a carer from the same provider and she hasn't heard anymore about him.

please check your PM's.

Re: I must apologize

Why can't everyone be nice?

There'd be no need for retorts, if they were.

Innocent people wouldn't feel the need to apologise.

Much better, it'd be.

Peace, and love.

Will they pay for you to have a trip over to Italy Neil? :D

Less 14-11-2011 19:26

Well I think it's shocking!
Is this what accyweb has become?
A place for guilty conciences and apologies instead of the 'what the heck', fun we should be having?
I know we have quite alot of political and topical threads these days, but please people remember accyweb was originally started as a bit of fun,
NEVER apologise until some straight lace forces you to.

Thanks Heth, my wife keeps getting set backs but we do all we can to keep her chin up.
We both are getting a bit down with not being able to do what we used to do, not depressed though.

Remember the song by J cash with the line " I wish that we could see and do the things we've done and seen", if only!

Neil...NO!

I've seen her snaps.

I'm broadminded, but they're too much even for in there.

:eek::D:eek:

Not the sort of picturesque snaps I was expecting to see of an Italian farm, when she pulled them from her bag, when she called for tea.

Yeah I know that line Gremlin, its a good line for a song and for life.

I hope that you dont get too down and dont let the likes of people like Grove get to you. I just ignore him and I know sometimes that it is hard.

If you need anything just let me know like I have said before. I dont mind one little bit coz I like you. :)

Re: I must apologize

Over the last few week or so I have made a number of postings on here in which I have questioned the decisions taken by the elected representatives in the debating chambers of the both the Borough and the Palace of Westminster.

I now realise that in doing so I may have suggested that our councillors and MP’s may not be fully taking into account the true interests of the electorate and as such I may have questioned their honourable integrity.

Therefore I unreservedly apologise for any misunderstanding that may have arisen. Councillors are there of course, to serve their own interests and that means currying favour with the local Kashmiri mafia in order to get elected next time round and keep their nice allowances. MP’s make their decisions in order to get an easy life and guaranteed promotions up the political pole.

I hope that clears everything up.

That's not quite right though is it Neil ?

Application is to mods. and can name another established member as a referee who knows you. The mod. then asks the member and if the member confirms the member applicant is over 18, then they allow you in. :)

So Mobertol, as you met a few of the members on your trip over here .. don't think you would have a problem.

It depend on Mick, you know he can be a bit grumpy at times.
He has been a little better since he had his lobotomy reversed so he might be ok with it.

Probably depends if she met any trustworthy members :p
