clayton triangle
 

It looks like the clayton triangle housing project has started, last week the police and fire brigade oversaw the removal of the remaining scrap cars from the former AAA Recovery site, and today large diggers moved in and started dismanteling the burned out shell of the old Planit Kitchens. Anyone who has to negotiate the gridlocked junction at the Hare and Hounds will appreciate the extra traffic this will eventually generate.

Bummer ... and here's me thinking that there was a bottom end version of the Bermuda Triangle ... :mad:;):D

you know the towns on a downward spriral when you see the jeremy kyle tour bus parked on the bypass .

Claytonx, it was just further down than the lights at the Hare and Hounds, second or third street on your left i think

It is called mill street, you cant miss the site, as AAA Recovery put up this large metal fence around the site( without planning permission, and enclosed council land and a garage site at the same time).
As an aside the boss of AAA is now a partner along with H.B.C. and British Waterways in the construction of the homes set to go within the clayton triangle.
The homes will start at mill street, Whalley Road, go along the canal until it reaches the Sea cadets headquarters

I would have thought as an ex bottom ender you would have known that mill street is top end:hothothot

Didn't catch that bit till later on in the thread ... the AAA recovery thingy was probably after my time ... Never paid much attention to the top end anyway ... ;):D

Oh yes I know Mill St very well, I lived directley opposite on Whalley Rd 208 the one bay window on the row as a youngster, and i played in the ruins of the mill right down to the canal

Not clearly ... although the name doesn't sound unfamiliar ... I barely remember Alexander St:confused: ... I'm trying not to use google maps in the hope that memory will kick in. If I have a clear flashback, I'll let you know;):D

The family grew up there in the late 40s 50s large family Dennis was the oldest, I went to Mount Pleasant with him, and he was my best man
